Mooresville and Lake Norman School Supply Lists and start dates

It’s hot outside, as should be expected toward the end of summer break. Parents and kids alike are starting to think about heading back to school (okay maybe the parents are looking forward to it more than the kids are). Summer 2015 is coming to an end and the 2015-2016 school year is about to begin. This is the perfect time to check out school calendars, create school supply shopping lists and get a jump start on one of the busiest times of the year.

Mooresville is lucky enough to have  two wonderful school systems that service our area. Mooresville Graded School District (MGSD) and Iredell – Statesville School System (ISS).

Mooresville Graded School District classes begin on August 24, 2015. Here is a link to the MGSD school calendar for 2015-2016 school year.  Information on enrollment into MGSD can be found here.   The MGSD lunch program payment information center can be found here.   MGSD has a wonderful before and after school program  for grades K-6 which also holds a summer camp for students.  Specific school supply lists links are as follows:  Rocky River Elementary School, Park View Elementary School, South Elementary‘s supply lists are broken down by grade levels – Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade and Third Grade.  East Mooresville Intermediate is also broken down by grade levels 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade.  Mooresville Intermediate School supply lists by grade level may be found here.  Mooresville Middle School offers a general supply list, but the child will receive the specific supply lists when school begins.  Mooresville High School students are given supply lists by their teachers when the class begins.

For the Mooresville schools that are a part of Iredell-Statesville School System,  ISS school system begins school this year on August 24th.  Here is a link to the ISS school calendar which lists all the important school dates for the 2015 – 2016 school year.  Lake Norman High School students will receive their supply lists from their teachers as classes begin, Brawley Middle School  and Lakeshore Middle School are the Mooresville middle schools assigned to Lake Norman High School.   Other supply lists are as follows per school: Coddle Creek Elementary, Lake Norman Elementary did not have a posted supply list at the time of this post, Lakeshore Elementary, Shepherd Elementary, Woodland Heights Elementary.  Mount Mourne is a wonderful IB school located in Mooresville, here is it’s supply list.

There are many other school districts located around Lake Norman, we have only focused on the ones in the Mooresville area for the purposes of this post.
